Hello

I made a card today using some embossing paste and a stencil. This is a technique that I really like, but I rarely use. I am usually kind of lacy and just don't have the energy to pull out all of the stuff that is required for something like this. Also I think the cleaning takes too much time. But every now and then I do pull out my art supplies and use them on my cards as well. And I am happy I did because I really like the way this card turned out.

And I am starting with an A6 cardbase as usual and a beautiful stencil from Prima. I am using texture paste that I got from an art supply store and I don't have any other paste than this. Unfortunately it is very old and I also noticed that I left the lid a bit open last time I used it so it is almost dried up and really hard to use.

The patterned paper I am using is from a 6x6 paper pad from Whiff of Joy. And some of you may have noticed that I have used this paper pad a lot, but I do really like the colors of the papers in this collection. On top of the patterned paper I used different washi tapes that I had in my stash.

For the sentiment I used an alphabet die set from Whiff of Joy. And then I just had to add a few enamel dots to the card and some glossy accents to my letters.

I also made a video for this card and you can find the tutorial on my YouTube channel or here below.

Special Wish

Today I wanted to share a new clean and simple card using stamps from Whiff of Joy. I also used some great inks from Ranger for this card.

This card is a really fast and simple card and we all know how much I love those. This card was supposed to be my simple sunday card, but I had to send my camera to Canon for cleaning so I couldn't get this up until today. I got some oil platters on my sensor a while back and they were vivible in every single photo and video I took with the camera. But hopefully the people at Canon can clean the sensor for me.

To make this card I am stamping a the feathers on to a piece of white cardstock in the different inks I had. I chose some blues and an orange ink. I really like the combination of blue/teal and orange.
I am cutting out the image with my scissors and it works just fine, but boy how I wish there was a matching die set for these stamps.

As a final touch I decided to add some faux stitching and then my card is done.

Closet organization

Today I thought I would share a peak into our new closet. We have an old house and we have been renovating and fixing it for a very long time. And now it is all finally starting to get finished. And yesterday my husband did the finishing touched on our closed and now it is completely done. There are a few small things left to do, but nothing major. I just need to get some organizers for my jewelry and scarfs and such. But for now atleast all of the clothes and shoes have a place to live. I did give away a lot of clothes when I started organizing the closet since I did have way more than I needed. I am really trying to get rid of lots of things around the house and I truly want to start declutter the my whole life. Which is a big step for me since I tend to be a bit of a hoarder.

Our closet i pretty small, but still a bit of a walk in type. My husband keeps calling it a "crawl in closet" but then he is very tall and can't really stand up in the closet. For me it is perfect though.

I didn't really want to have these white mesh drawers in here, but they ended up being the cheapest solution since the ones that I wanted were just too expensive. I do think they work just fine and it doesn't look as bas as I had originally though it would.

My husband built this storage unit for my shoes so I could finally keep them in something other than an old plastic bag on the floor. I drew a quick sketch of how I wanted the unit to look and how large it had to be. I though four shelves would be enough, but he decided to make a fifth one just in case and I am glad he did since I couldn't even fit all of the shoes on five shelves. Guess he will have to build a second unit soon.

So that was the closet here in our house. I thought I would start a bit of a "mini series" here on the blog and share the progress of my decluttering and oranizing journey and hopefully I'll manage to get rid of all the unnecessary stuff that I have accumulated over the years.
