Polka Dots Challenge #169
It's time for a new challenge over at
SweetStamps.com and this week the theme is polka dots. I had planned to make my own polka dot background, but realized that I didn't have any stamps that were completely round. So I had to improvise a bit and use some flower stamps and just drops of color. I made a very simple card with just one layer, but sometimes I think that is enough.

Photo Inspiration Challenge #167
Time for a new challenge over at
SweetStamps.com and this week we have a photo to inspire us. I have been very busy since last challenge with easter and all so I haven't really had the time to do anything and therefore there were no Simple Sunday video last week. But atleast I managed to make a card for this challenge and even though it didn't turn out the way I planned (still having a craft block) I think there is something there.

Sweets Challenge #166
Time for a new challenge over at
SweetStamps.com and this week the theme is Sweets. I didn't have any stamps or dies that really fit the theme this week so I had to make something else. I used a butterfly die and some patterned paper I had left over from the previous card I made.

Embossing Challenge #165
Time for a new challenge over at
SweetStamps.com. This week we are having a combined Weekly challenge and Monthly Technique challenge and theme is Anything Goes + Embossing. I have made a simple "almost one layer" card using a die and a butterfly stamp. I embossed the diecut and the butterfly using pearl embossing powder. On top of the black cardstock the pearl actually ended up looking like silver, but I like it.

Dies Challenge #163
Another week has passed and it is as usual time for another weekly
challenge over at
SweetStamps.com. This week the theme is Dies and I have made a simple and almost one layer card using a wonderful butterfly silhouette die and some distress inks.
The story behind this card is a bit funny perhaps and the finished card is actually because of a huge mistake I made. I did the card with a black panel in the beginning leaving just a small white border around it. I drew some faux stitching lines around the edges and embossed the sentiment in white. Then I decided that maybe I should spray some Perfect Pearls Mist on the card, so I did. Unfortunately I managed to get a little bit more mist on the black panel than I had anticipated so I took a paper towel and started wiping some away. It would have worked out just fine if I had made sure that my white pen (the one I used to draw the stitching) was completely dry. In this case it wasn't and I ended up smudging the stitching lines and got white ink everywhere. Not pretty at all!
So I removed the black piece and I was planning on redoing the whole thing when I realized the card looked a lot better without the panel. So I just stamped the sentiment in black instead and the card was done. Yay!

Swirls Challenge #162
Today it is Tuesday again and time for a new weekly
challenge over at
SweetStamps.com. The theme this week is Swirls and I have made a card using some different stamps from the shop. I have had to struggle a lot lately with my cardmaking and my "craft block" just won't seem to end. It is very frustrating to feel completely blocked when you want to craft but just can't seem to make anything good. But I am trying to hang in there and keep trying to create and hopefully I'll get out of the block and start creating like I am used to again.
