Happy Birhday

Idag är det dags för ett nytt kort hos Uniko Studio och en Blog Hop i designteamet.
Denna månad släpptes flera nya stämplar och jag kommer idag att visa upp två av stämeplseten i mitt kort.

It's the time again for a new post for Uniko Studio. This month Uniko Studio is having a huge release with several great stamp sets and even a set of dies to coordinate with the Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum stamp set.

My card this time is as usual pretty simple, but who doesn't need simple Birthday Cards?
To make the background on this card I used the new stamp set called Background Builders: Chevrons. I love these stamps and chevrons are so fun.

The big Birthday sentiment is also from a new stamp set called All Occasion Sentiments #2. T hese large sentiment stamps are great and can be used for so many different projects. I love them.

I also used the Happy stamp from an older set called Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum. That set includes some great sentiments and of course gorgeous flowers. Don't forget to check out the new coordinating set of dies to those flowers and leaves.

The beginning of the end

Ja nu har det ju varit midsommar och allt sånt och dagarna börjar bli kortare igen. Kan inte riktigt fatta var sommaren tog vägen, det är helt ofattbart. Det har ju inte ens hunnit bli sommar innan den börjar ta slut igen. Jag vill ha sommar hela tiden, jag tycker inte om vintern.

We have had midsummer here in Sweden a few days ago. Midsummer means that the days are getting shorter again and we are heading for winter. Can't believe most of the summer is already gone. We haven't even had any summer yet and it is already about to end? I should move somewhere warmer, I hate winter. I want it to be warm and sunny all the time.

Blommor och bin

När man är ute och fotar blommor är det alltid lika kul när det helt plötsligt sitter små levande varelser på blommorna också. Det gör visserligen det hela lite svårare då de sällan sitter still, men när man väl får till en bild så blir det oftast ganska bra. Visst är det roligare att fota stora djur, men det är ju inte lika lätt att hitta en älg eller hare som det är att hitta en humla direkt.

When you are out taking photos of flowers it is always an extra bonus when there happens to be an insect on the flowers. Perhaps insect are not as fun as larger animals, but it is so much harder to find a moose than a bumblebee.

Dandelions

I går var jag ute med kameran igen. Verkar som om det där med att fota kommer och går lite i perioder. Var ute och fota lite blommor och insekter som vanligt. Det där med macro-foton är faktiskt roligt. Saknar dock mitt gamla objektiv lite när det gäller just närbilder. Det nya jag har till nya kameran är inte riktigt lika bra. Undra om det går att hitta ett bättre till nya kameran eller om jag ska satsa på att fota närbilder med gamla kameran istället.

I haven't had any inspiration and interest in taking photos lately, but maybe that is about to change now. I have been out with my camera again and been taking some new macro photos like old times. I don't really like the new macro lens for the new camera as much as I liked my old ones, but maybe I can find something that fit me perfectly sometime.

My sweet girl

Lilla Freja växer och växer och har blivit så fin. Dessutom är hon otroligt go och rolig också.
Är så otroligt glad över denna katt, hon är bäst!

My little girl Freja is growing so fast and she is so beautiful. She is also so sweet and funny and I am so happy for this wonderful girl.

Roses Challenge #123

Today there a new challenge over at SweetStamps.com and this time the theme is roses. Which might seem strange judging by my card this week, but maybe you can be kind and imagine that my flower is a rose? A rose with big leaves ;) Honestly I didn't have a single rose stamp in my stash, which can only be blamed on bad planning when ordering stamps. So I can just give you my apologies for that.

So, the challenge this week is to make something with roses and my card is a simple card made with cardstock, stamps, and markers. My "roses" are colored with Copic Markers and the frames are cut using some Spellbinders Dies.

Kameratest och hundar

Snart är det dags för bröllop och min kamera ska få jobba ordentligt i händerna på min syster hela helgen. För att allt ska fungera så smidigt som möjligt har jag idag varit ute och testat lite inställningar och bara lekt lite med kameran för att på bästa sätt kunna förklara för syster hur hon ska göra när hon fotar bröllopet.

Som motiv för "textfotograferingen" använde jag tre glada hundar som mer än gärna ställde upp på bild. De har tappat all vinterpäls nu och ser väl egentligen mer ut som magra skabbrävar än välgödda hundar, men de verkar lika glada ändå.

Since my wedding is coming up soon I have been playing around with my camera to make sure it is working properly for the wedding. My sister will be in charge of the camera and capturing the best moments of the wedding. I really wanted to take my own wedding photos, but since that is impossible my sister agreed to help. That way I'll get the photos the way I want them (hopefully) and I better know what the camera can do before telling my sister what to do. :)

So I went out today and took some pictures of our three dogs and they seemed more than happy to help. They have lost all of their wonderful winter coats now and are just looking skinny and honestly really ugly, but they seemed to be just as happy as always. Maybe looks are not that important in the dog world. 

The quail

Kanske en hemsk eller sorglig historia, men jag berättar ändå hur det kan bli på landet när man har djur.

För ett tag sedan skulle jag kläcka fram ett gäng nya vaktlar här hemma och hade samlat ca 16 ägg och stoppat i kläckaren. Kläckningen gick allt annat än bra och bara 4 vaktlar kom ut. Två av dem hade något fel på ben och nacke och kunde inte stå upprätt så vi fick avliva dem för att de inte skulle behöva plågas.

Två små vatklar fanns sen kvar och de var pigga och fina och verkade friska. Tyvärr var jag tvungen att avliva den ena av dem på grund av en olycka som berodde på min egen klantighet och en vaktel som var för snabb för sitt eget bästa. Jag lyckades klämma honom i locket på kläckaren och det fanns inget att göra för honom.

Här med var det bara en stackars liten vaktel kvar och han var helt ensam och var ledsen och ropade på sällskap hela tiden. Tyckte så synd om honom, men det fanns ju inget jag kunde göra. En dag låg han bara där död den lille vakteln.

Tar nog ett litet tag innan jag försöker mig på att kläcka fram några vaktlar igen, kanske blir det senare under sommaren, men just nu får det vara. Kläckaren är just nu ändå full med ankägg, får se hur det går där.

Verkar inte vara något bra "kläckar-år" för mig detta år.

En bild på den lilla vakteln fick jag i alla fall, så söta är de när de är små.

Perhaps a bit of a sad story about a quail, but I'll tell it anyway.

I was going to hatch some quail earlier this summer, but things didn't really go as planned. Only 4 quails hatched and I had to put down two of them since they couldn't stand up. Then I managed to accidentally kill one of the other two, felt so bad about that. But he was so fast and when I was going to close the lid of the incubator he put his little head int he way and there was nothing I could do. After that I was left with one poor little one and he was so lonely and eventually he died too. Might take a while before I try to hatch quail again. Last year it went so well and I had lots of them, but this year just seemed to go all wrong.

Here's a photo of the little one. They are pretty cute when they are young.

Maskrosmarmelad

Idag gjorde jag maskrosmarmelad och tyckte det gick rätt bra.

Den smakar lite som honung, inte helt illa med andra ord. 

Ska bli spännande att prova på rostade mackor sen. Kan nog passa i te också.

Ska ta och fixa till burken lite också så att den ser snyggare ut.

I made dandelion marmalade today. It was actually really good and tasted a bit like honey.

Will be making the jar look a litte bit more "inviting" later on.

Monthly Technique - Chalkboard

It's technique challenge again at SweetStamps today and I will be showing you a card I have made using this months technique.

This month's technique is to make a card with the popular chalkboard technique.

I had never done this before and I was lucky enough to have a sheet of black cardstock at home. Unfortunately it was a textured cardstock, but i stamped on the back of it and I think it worked out pretty ok anyway. 

I made my card pretty simple, as always, and I used two stamps from SweetStamps.com and ColorBox white ink.

Uniko Studio Release Day

Idag är det dags att via up lite nya kort och stämplar från Uniko Studio.
Denna månad släpper Uniko Studio flera härliga stämpelset och även en uppsättning dies till stämpelsetet Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum

It's the time again for a new post for Uniko Studio. This month Uniko Studio is having a huge release with several great stamp sets and even a set of dies to coordinate with the Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum stamp set. 

So lets head on to the first set of cards I made this month.

This card features three of the new stamp sets (well actually there is a small piece of a fourth too)
The large flowers on this card is from a new stamp set called Beautiful Blooms 1. I love these flowers and they can be used in so many different ways. Be sure to check out the Uniko Studio Blog to see some of the great cards Beverly have made with this set, they are amazing. 

The second new stamp set I used on the card is the flower with three leaves and the sentiment. They are from a stamp set called Flower Power #2 and this stamp set is such a great set and compliments the Flower Power #1 set perfectly. 

The third stamp set can be seen behind the sentiments. The chevron pattern there is from the new Background Builders: Chevrons stamp set. Chevrons are just great.

What about the fourth stamp set I talked about? Well, can you see the tiny dots I put on the card? They are from a small piece of a stamp from the new set called Natures Treasures 1. I'll for sure give this set a proper introduction another day, it is a gorgeous set with leaves an foliage that can be used for just about anything.

I also used a stamp from BRIGHT Butterflies to fill out the spaces between the flowers.

The second card I'll be showing you today is quite simple and for this I used one new set and some old ones I love.

The new stamp set I used here is called All Occasion Sentiments #2 and just like All Occasion Sentiments #1 it is a set of large sentiments perfect for cardmaking. This time I used the work Awesome.

I also used some older sets here . The word "You're" some from the set BRIGHT Butterflies and the banners are from Wonderful Washi.

Parchment Craft Challenge #121

This card was a hard one for me. I have never done parchment craft before and I had no idea what it was. When I finally figured out what I had to do I tried to make something out of the stuff I had in my craft room. I am not sure what I was going for here and I didn't really end up liking my card. But atleast I tried a new technique that I had never done before and I like trying new thing even if the result isn't always as good as I would have wanted it to be.

Dad Challenge #120

In the middle of all work related stuff I found the time to make fast and simple card for SweetStamps Dad Challenge this week. The patterned paper I used is actually a 4x6 card from my Project Life stash. I just fell in love with that pattern and had to use it.
